ESET NOD32 Antivirus, commonly known as NOD 32 is an antivirus software package made by the Slovak company ESET. ESET NOD32 Antivirus is sold in two editions, Home Edition and Business Edition. Business Edition packages add ESET Remote Administrator allows the implementation and administration of the server, reflecting changes in database of threat signatures and the ability to install in Microsoft Windows Server operating systems.
The acronym NOD stands for Nemocnica na Okraji Disku ( "hospital at the end of the disk"), a set of related words with the Nemocnice na kraji MĚSTA (Hospital at the End of the City) The first version of NOD32 Czechoslovak medical drama series -. called NOD-ICE - was a DOS-based program. It was created in 1987 by Peter Paško and Miroslav Trnka at the time that computer viruses began to be increasingly common in computers running DOS. Due to limitations of the operating system, however (lack of multitasking among others) that they do not have any / protection on demand in real time or most of the other features of the current versions.
